It’s time to hop back into celebration mode for Lunar New Year 2023 – a.k.a the year of the Rabbit (or cat pending traditions).
So you’ve eased back into the working week, you’re done trading holiday stories with Davo and Suze – well guess what – now it’s time to celebrate and explore all the festivities surrounding the Lunar New Year!
Now an entrenched part of Australian culture, Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year brings an abundance of fun, colour, music, movement and design to the streets of Sydney.
With a long history spanning up to 4000 years, Lunar New Year is a great opportunity for people from all over the world to learn about Chinese and Southeastern and Eastern Asian cultures at large.
As experiential design experts we’re always keen to explore events that connect people and place and the Sydney Lunar festival is a great example of how different design disciplines can create immersive experiences.
They say the Rabbit’s quiet personality hides their confidence, it symbolises patience and strength, they are steadily moving towards their goal in the face of adversity – sounds like we should all take a leaf out of the Rabbits book – may the Lunar New Year bring you more peace, relaxation and success.
