Bringing The Canopy to life through branding and wayfinding

The Canopy

2 Rosenthal Ave, Lane Cove NSW 2066
Brief
Lane Cove Council has transformed Rosenthal Avenue Car Park into The Canopy – a vibrant community space at the heart of Lane Cove. Since 2018, BrandCulture played a key role in The Canopy’s naming, place branding and wayfinding strategies. Our branding and wayfinding designs can now be found throughout the many layers of The Canopy, heralding its arrival as Lane Cove’s newest meeting place.
Solution
BrandCulture worked closely with ADCO Constructions and architects Scott Carver to create an elegant wayfinding system that is beautifully embedded into the built environment. Signs are made of black and weathered metal, echoing the architectural palette. Soft, curved lines and edges mirror The Canopy’s branding.

At the top of The Canopy, the brand identity is embedded into the pavement, creating a sense of address. Hidden beneath is a four-storey carpark. Each level is distinguished by The Canopy’s brand colours to improve orientation. Dark blue signifies Lane Cove River. Yellow depicts local sandstone. Green symbolizes local parklands; purple represents urban areas. Light blue and white depict the sky and clouds.
