As part of the jury for the 2016 Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) Global Design Awards, we’re very proud to announce that our Managing Director Stephen Minning has been selected to serve as Chairman. Stephen will be championing a jury from a plethora of design backgrounds, including digital experience design, architecture and graphic design, design education, environmental graphic design and brand strategy.
The SEGD Global Design Awards, incepted in 1987 is the most esteemed international design competition for experiential design in the built environment. Through the amalgamation of digital technologies, placemaking and knowledge of intuitive thought, experiential design allows for effective user experiences and solid interactions between people and place.
The awards consist of seven categories: Digital Experience Content, Interactive Experiences, Placemaking and Identity, Strategy/Research/Planning, Wayfinding, Public Installations and Exhibition.
Stephen states that “Experiential graphic design continues to be enriched by digital technology and that won’t change. But beyond that, it should always be guided by Design Thinking and solid principles of design for user experiences. We’ve gathered a jury that, through its exposure to many disciplines of design, will ensure these principles are represented in the winning work.”
The 2016 SEGD Global Design Awards entries close on January 31 2016. Winners will be commended during the 2016 SEGD Conference in Seattle on June 9-11 2016.
A huge congratulations to Stephen and good luck to all entrants!
