New Project: Revitalising the spectator experience at Brookvale Oval

BrandCulture is proud to be partnering with Hassell to devise a new wayfinding strategy for Brookvale Oval’s $33 million redevelopment.

We are excited to be involved in the transformation of Brookvale Oval in Sydney’s Northern Beaches as wayfinding consultants. With architecture by Hassell, the development transforms Brookvale Oval with a new Centre of Excellence, which will be home to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. A new 3,000-seat undercover grandstand will also deliver an incredible experience for spectators.

As wayfinding consultants, it’s our role to design a suite of signage to guide players, staff and visitors to the Centre of Excellence’s gym, training centre, medical facilities, community areas and meeting rooms.

Our designs include everything from external building signage featuring the famous Sea Eagles crest, to an honour wall that pays tribute to past and current players, as well as experiential design concepts for the player’s tunnel that leads to the field.

The revitalisation is being jointly funded by the Federal Government, NSW State Government and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. “It’s great to see more investment in suburban sports facilities,” says BrandCulture’s Design Director, Nick Bannikoff. “As sports facilities grow and evolve, wayfinding comes into play as an important tool for managing large crowds and revitalising the spectator experience. We look forward to revealing some of our wayfinding concepts very soon.”

ADCO began constructing Brookvale Oval’s Centre of Excellence and Northern Grandstand last month, which will open in time for the 2022 NRL Season.
